Social Impact: Partnership, Lending, Investment & Funding

Governs every flow of non-profit money — causes, donations and sponsorships, beneficiary support and subsidised purchases — and builds the partnerships that fund the work.

This division is responsible for the money entrusted to us. It approves causes, receives donations and sponsorships, manages beneficiary support and subsidised purchases, and makes sure every shilling is recorded in funds kept separate from any commercial activity.

It also builds partnerships with companies, foundations, development partners and government. Lending and investment are regulated activities: the Initiative will only offer them through licensed financial institutions, under formal agreements approved by our Board.

What we aim to achieve

  • Keep non-profit funds separate, restricted where donors ask, and openly reported
  • Grow a diverse base of individual, corporate and institutional supporters
  • Fund training seats, devices, connectivity and participation support
  • Work only through licensed partners for any lending or investment

What we do

  • Donations and sponsorships
  • Cause and campaign approval
  • Beneficiary support and subsidised purchases
  • Partnership agreements and reporting
