Uses digital work as a route out of poverty: identifying poor and near-poor households, routing them into paid work and supported purchases, with every transaction forming an evidence trail.
The Assisting Poverty Alleviation division applies the Ujuzi Digital Initiative to households living in or near poverty. It identifies participants with local partners, routes them into paid work, supports essential purchases, and uses the record of each transaction as evidence of what changed.
Its design draws on Tanzanian precedent in social protection and financial inclusion. The project document is in preparation; this page will be updated as the division moves into implementation.
Our flagship five-year programme (2026/27 – 2030/31): digital skills and freelancing training, mentorship, community digital hubs, devices and connectivity, rural outreach and platform onboarding — measured every step of the way.
Governs every flow of non-profit money — causes, donations and sponsorships, beneficiary support and subsidised purchases — and builds the partnerships that fund the work.
Brings short, practical courses authored by institutions of standing into the Ujuzi-Tu learning area, and pairs learners with mentors — mobile-first, low-bandwidth, in Kiswahili and English.
